Shiga Kogen Mountain Resort is the largest ski resort in Japan.
The 18 ski resorts are OkushigaKogen, Yakebitaiyama, Terakoya, Takamagahara Mammoth, Tannne no mori Okojyo,Ichinose Family, Ichinose Diamond, Ichinose Yamanokami,Nisidateyama, Higashidatayama, Hooppo Bunadaira, Giant, Hasuike, Maruike, Sunvalley, Kumanoyu, Yokoteyama and Shibutoge.
It has a ski area stretching across in size from a height of 1325m to 2307m with 48 lifts, gondolas, and ski areas that are functionally connected by a shuttle bus service.
You can come and go as you please at all of our skiing areas with the shuttle bus or the all-mountain common lift pass (key ticket).
Having a blessed geography and weather conditions, you can enjoy the great quality of its snow. You can also enjoy a long season as it covers the period from the middle of November to the end of May.

On the basis of the UNESCO program of "Man and Biosphere (MAB)" that was inaugurated in 1971, Shiga Kogen was designated as a "Biosphere Conservation Area (UNESCO Eco Park)" in 1981. ShigaKogen Mountain Resort is the closest to Snow Monkey Park.
Established in 1964, the park attracted many visitors, including researches from around the world who visit here to observe the unique ecology of Japanese monkeys first hand, and photographers who are eager to capture scenes with the monkeys taking a hot springs.
It is now a popular attraction for tourists world over.
